The Man In Blue

The man in blue
Radiant sappphire
Generous grins
Sparkling orbs
Basking in your brilliance
Noble visage
Like a god
Walking above air
Walking on water
Energy gathering towards
The space between us
Feared to cross the divide
Afraid
Abashed
Apprehensive
Acceptance
Will he let me in?
Be my friend?
Does he notice me?

Three In Five

After dinner time
Here I have something for you
In the warmth of the sleeping bag
Here I have something for you
Pink frilly baby doll pajamas
Here I have something for you

What's the stats?
One in five
Two in five
Sad shock
It's three in five

Innocence taken away
With mistrust and abuse
Innocence
never to be given back
Innocence
it's my fault

The wall breaks down again

Drugs alcohol food sex religion
Anything to dull the pain
Of the scars left behind
The wounds that won't heal
The years pass on
The buried past
Still emerges like an earthquake
From deep beneath the surface
Still trying to make peace
Of innocence gone
Only to reemerge in unwise choices

The Answer

Eyes closed relishing the sunset
Soaking in the melody of our song
Is it wrong to love too much?
What would Buddha say?
My head is fused to the tail of the kite
Overreaching the outer-limits
Committing to today
No worries for tomorrow
Is it OK to love the Buddha too much?
Capturing the sunlight
Capturing the moon
Bespectacled in sapphires and blues
Is it out of tune?
Is it OK to love Buddha too much

But I'm not through

But I'm not through
Too much uneven terrain to travel
Too much reality to spark a long dead fire
Too many tears the fingers cannot hold
Taking the easy way does no good
Dredging up the past
Bewilders the already murky vision

Pained eyes of resentment
Stone cold face
Grief upon grief to remain underground
Unleashed
Bared
Unconstrained
Crossing the divide
Of previously curated carefulness not to
Thrust through the false barrier
Of putting hurts aside
Stones first thrown
Words first thrown
Staredown thrown
Adverted eyes

Looking straight ahead
Exposes the rawness of the soul
An anguished heart at this impasse
Of who hurt who
Know that I hurt as much as you
