A Poem for Denise

Are you dead?
Not quite
My heart is stone cold
What life I have left
is mine to give
Flowers aplenty
White roses for my grave
Pink roses for summer smiles,
Just because
Letting go of what's behind
Moving forward,
is the hardest step
The Good Samaritan
is our example
to live our lives
My life is what it shouldn't be
I'm a fraction of what I used to be
Bring me flowers in the desert
Catch a butterfly
Shoot for the shooting stars
I shall return
I have returned

     Peace be with you
     Shalom
